A story of emotion and freedom set in a resilient and vibrant venue.
This 160th anniversary is much more than a celebration: it is a testament to the fact that, since 1865, the Bataclan has remained a symbol of hope, emotion, and freedom. It embodies a living legacy, drawing on the challenges it has faced to move forward with boldness and creativity.

A Strategic Relaunch: The Bataclan Looks to the Future
Since its acquisition by the Paris Entertainment Company group, the Bataclan has undergone a major transformation, driven by a bold repositioning within the rock music scene and a targeted investment strategy. With more than 120 events organized this year, the venue has seen significant growth compared to the 80 annual concerts held three years ago, when it was acquired. This momentum has enabled the venue to break even for the first time, thanks to major renovations to its facilities—particularly the dressing rooms and the bar—which have received enthusiastic feedback from artists and producers. The Bataclan is no longer content to simply tell its story; it is reinventing it every day.
A Guardian Dragon and a Digital Mural: Discover 160 Years of Creativity
The protective dragon, this anniversary year’s new visual emblem, now watches over the venue: it is displayed at the entrance and on the swing doors, standing guard over a Bataclan that remains as vibrant as ever. This powerful and inspiring figure accompanies a bold program that blends heritage and modernity, such as the unveiling of a brand-new digital mural. In this interactive game, the most competitive among us will discover over 100 artists who have left their mark on the Bataclan’s history: the more they uncover, the more points they’ll earn and the better their chances of winning exclusive merchandise. It’s a fun and immersive way to explore the soul of this legendary venue, bridging its rich past with new discoveries.
A brand-new capsule collection
To mark this anniversary, the Bataclan is launching its first line of merchandise in collaboration with visual artist Lukas Krol! T-shirts, sweatshirts, socks, posters, and even an unusual item—a very limited-edition hot sauce. These exclusive products will feature the tagline “Free Spirit for 160 Years,” symbolizing the venue’s timeless identity and vitality.
What's next? Our first in-house event!
Rather than just a concert, the Bataclan is taking a new step by producing its first 100% “in-house” event: Les Foudres. This unprecedented ceremony, dedicated to the French metal scene, is part of a clear commitment to creating powerful and unique cultural events that reflect the venue’s rock-and-roll DNA and its dedication to social causes. Scheduled for October 9, 2025, Les Foudres will bring together artists, industry professionals, and fans for an electrifying evening that embodies the free-spirited ethos that has endured through the decades.
The Bataclan’s 160th anniversary is a unique opportunity to delve into the soul of this legendary venue and witness its renewed commitment to artistic creation and freedom of expression.
